Denbigh
Denbigh is a historic old town in the Clwyd district of North Wales, 10 miles from Rhyl.
Its Welsh name is Dinbych.
Denbigh was founded as a borough on 1283, and sacked by Owain Glyndwr in 1402.
Denbigh Castle, built in the 13th century, stands conspicuously on its high rocky outcrop. It is now in the care of Cadw.
There is a surviving stretch of Town Wall.
Sir Henry Morton Stanley, journalist and explorer, who uttered the immortal query "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?", was born at Denbigh.
