Corsham

Corsham is a very attractive town in Wiltshire, 4 miles from Chippenham.

The town centre is a treasure trove of stone houses, many dating back to the 17th century.

The Town Hall was built in 1784.

St. Bartholomew`s Church dates partly from the 12th century.

Corsham Court, just off the High Street and beside the church, is Elizabethan, but on a Saxon manorial site. It stands in a fine park, the work of both Capability Brown and Thomas Repton.

The Underground Quarry Centre is a quarry for Bath stone.

Corsham was used for filming in scenes for "Poldark", playing the part of Truro.
