Corby

Corby is a town in Rockingham Forest in Northamptonshire, 7 miles from Kettering.

It was a rural village until 1932, when the steel works opened, bringing in a huge influx of workers, many from Scotland.

The steel works closed down in the 1980s, causing many job losses, but the council have actively sought new industries.

Corby is one of the few towns in England to hold Highland Games, and the Corby Pole Fair, with a charter granted by Elizabeth I, is held every twenty years.

Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby is available to lead Guided Walks around Corby for groups.
