Cavendish
Cavendish is an outstandingly pretty village in the Stour Valley in Suffolk, a few miles from Sudbury.
The parish church dates from the 14th century, and forms a very pretty group with the 16th century cottages on the village green. This is one of the most photographed scenes in England, probably second only to Finchingfield in Essex.
The village was the ancestral home of the Cavendish family, Dukes of Devonshire.
Cavendish is the home of Sue Ryder, and the Old Rectory is one of the houses used by her Foundation.
