Spires and Squires Tour (A Coach Trip in Northamptonshire)
"Spires and Squires Tour" is one of the very popular Coach Trips devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a first class way of soaking up some Local History.
This is one of the morning trips, enjoyed by everybody but particularly appreciated by those who would prefer not to be out all day.
The coach departs from St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 9.30am, and is expected back about 2pm.
The format for these morning trips is that one stays on the coach for almost the whole journey, while Colin delivers his inimitable commentary, but about halfway round, usually in the region of 11.30am, a stop is made at a place of interest, where tea, coffee, cakes etc can be purchased.
This particular trip concentrates on the beautiful countryside of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, where the innumerable spires of village churches were landmarks for those taking part in foxhunting, for which the area was not only suitable but very famous.
