Sherwood Forest Tour (A Coach Trip in Nottinghamshire)
The "Sherwood Forest Tour" is one of the very popular coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These trips are an excellent way of soaking up some Local History.
This is one of the excursions that Colin runs on a Sunday afternoon, which leaves people with the option of doing something else on a Sunday morning, most obviously going to church, and still taking part in the trip.
The coach departs from St. Margarets Bus Station, in Leicester City Centre, at 1pm, and is expected back about 9pm.
Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the fascinating sights and places encountered along the route.
The tour takes in a great deal of Nottinghamshire around Sherwood Forest, legendary haunt of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men.
And there is a stop for a couple of hours or so at the Derbyshire market town of Chesterfield, best known for the crooked spire of its parish church.
