Robin Hood Country Tour (A Coach Trip in Nottinghamshire)
The "Robin Hood Country Tour" is one of the many Coach Trips run throughout the year by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are a most enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
It is one of the morning trips, popular with people who have half a day to spare.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 9.30am, and is expected back about 2pm.
The format for these morning trips is that one stays on the coach for most of the time, while Colin gives his inimitable commentary. However, about halfway round, usually about 11.30am, a stop is made somewhere nice, where one can indulge oneself and buy tea, coffee, cakes etc.
This particular trip is around the legendary haunts of England`s favourite oultlaw, Robin Hood, who is said to have lived with his Merrie Men in the Sherwood Forest area of Nottinghamshire.
Some of the places which may well be featured on the tour are Southwell; Newark; Rufford Abbey and Edwinstowe, where Robin and Maid Marian are said to have been married.
