Lavenham (A Coach Trip in Lavenham)

"Lavenham" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These excursions are a most enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

The coach departs from St. Margarets Bus Station, in Leicester City Centre, at 8am, and is expected back about 9pm.

Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the interesting places and sights that are encountered en route. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s trips quite unique.

Lavenham is a lovely old town in Suffolk, and one of the showplaces of England. The Industrial Revolution largely passed this area by, and as a consequence Lavenham retains hundreds of beautiful mediaeval listed buildings, mostly timber framed and with the local colourwash so typical of Suffolk and its neighbouring county of Essex.

As part of the trip, Colin leads a Guided Walk around Lavenham, pointing out many places of interest, including the Guildhall, the Market Place, the sublime Swan Inn and the magnificent St. Peter and St. Paul Church.
