John Wesleys London (A Guided Walk in London)
"John Wesleys London" is one of the fascinating Guided Walks devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours, in the historic City of London.
These walks are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.
The walk starts outside St. Pauls Cathedral, beside the Queen Anne Statue.
During the walk, Colin points out places connected with the story of the hugely influential preacher John Wesley and his brother, the outstanding hymn writer Charles Wesley.
Among the locations visited is the ancient street at Aldersgate where the brothers had their conversions, as well as the famous Wesley's Chapel.
And there will be a visit to the burial ground known as Bunhill Fields, where many well known nonconformists are laid to rest, including William Blake, John Bunyan, Daniel Defoe, Isaac Watts and Susanna Wesley.
This is just one of a number of interesting walks that Colin leads around sometimes little known districts in and around the City. These include "Bow Bells", "Smithfield and Clerkenwell", "Southwark and Bankside" and "Spitalfields".
