Highfields (A Guided Walk in Leicester)
"Highfields" is one of the fascinating Guided Walks in Leicester devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby.
These gentle strolls are an excellent way of getting to know some Local History.
This walk is around the inner city area which was once quite literally the high field, overlooking the old town of Leicester, with windmills on the hill top.
Some of the nineteenth century architecture in the residential streets is pretty elegant, there are places of worship representing a number of religions, and there is an attractive park.
During the walk, Colin will also point out the streets which were home to two popular songwriters.
