Hamilton Lake and the Humber Stone (A Guided Walk in Hamilton)
"Hamilton Lake and the Humber Stone" is a delightful and interesting Guided Walk in the Hamilton area of Leicester, devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These strolls are a most enjoyable way of getting to know some Local History.
Starting at Tesco, the walk utilises pathways through the modern housing estate to the very pleasant, but little known, Hamilton Lake, on the edge of the Leicestershire countryside.
From there it leads to the Humber Stone, sometimes thought erroneously to be the origin of the name of the nearby Humberstone village. The enigmatic Humber Stone is passed by thousands every day, but very rarely seen.
