Diseworth (A Guided Walk in Diseworth)

“Diseworth” is a Guided Walk devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

Colin's walks are an enjoyable way of learning some Local History.

Diseworth is a fascinating village in the North of Leicestershire, close to East Midlands Airport.

The walk starts outside the Bull and Swan pub in the centre of the village.

The party will traverse the main streets of Diseworth, the names of which betray their Danish origin – Clements Gate, Grimes Gate, Hall Gate and Lady Gate.

Other interesting buildings include St. Michaels Church, the cottage where the astrologer William Lilly was born, and a number of farms. There is also a sheepwash and a clapper bridge.

Diseworth can be reached by bus from Loughborough and Derby.
