Chester (A Coach Trip in Chester)
"Chester" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.
These excursions are an enjoyable way of learning some Local History.
Chester is a very historic cathedral city in Cheshire, dating back to the Roman period. It retains almost all its City Walls, as well as The Rows, a unique architectural feature involving continuous pedestrian walkways at first floor shop level.
The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in the centre of Leicester at 8am, and is due back about 9.30pm.
Colin gives his inimitable commentary along the way, bringing to life the fascinating countryside and villages through which the coach passes.
Then on arrival in Chester, Colin leads a Guided Walk around the city, pointing out many places of interest, including Chester Cathedral, The Rows, St. Johns Church, the Jubilee Clock on the Eastgate and the Roman Amphitheatre.
The walk also includes a stretch of the City Walls.
