Young People Shown Round Blaby
I recently had the pleasure of showing a group of children and teenagers around the village of Blaby, to the South of Leicester.
I did this for a group called Activity Nighters.
It was a shorter version of the Guided Walk which I run for the public from time to time simply called "Blaby" - shorter because the group leaders felt that the younger children would not be able to cope with a longer walk.
As it was, everybody was fascinated by the amount of history in what is widely thought of as being quite a mundane place.
Starting at Johns Court, I led the group towards the War Memorial and then to the entrance to Bouskells Park, where everybody was amazed to learn that in the park is a deserted village site.
I also talked about All Saints Church, the Village Green and the prety Bakers Arms.
I couldn't have wished for a nicer group of young people.
