Weekend at Stratford-upon-Avon
My wife Anne and I recently spent a relaxing weekend at Stratford-upon-Avon. We both needed it as we had both been ill.
On the way, we dropped in at Old Kenilworth, had a stroll about and went for a coffee and scone in a very nice tea room.
At Stratford, we spent the night at the Grosvenor Hotel, which amazingly was literally minutes away on foot from the town centre. It was a very good hotel, reasonably priced, and neither of us could think of anything negative about it. Very good indeed.
We had a nice stroll around the town, looking at some of the historic sites, and along the Riverside, popping into the theatre to see what was on.
On the Sunday morning, we visited Holy Trinity Church, where William Shakespeare is buried, for the morning service. We were made welcome.
Then on the way back to Leicester, we stopped at Banbury, and had a decent look round this interesting market town.
We both felt better for the break.
