Umpires Chief Graces Grace Road
I went to another meeting of the Leicestershire Cricket Society recently. I go to as many of these meetings as I can.
These meetings are held at the Grace Road cricket ground in Leicester, and are a way for cricket enthusiasts to keep in touch with the game during the close season.
Each meeting features a speaker. This time it was Chris Kelly, not so much a household name as some of the others, but an important man nevertheless.
Chris is in charge of the game`s umpires, including their appointment, training and policies. His talk was very interesting, as he has some forthright views about how cricket is progressing today.
