The Delights of Ely
I had the great pleasure of leading a Guided Walk around the lovely cathedral city of Ely recently.
Most of my walks are in Leicestershire and Rutland, although I have done some others not too far away, such as Newark, Rugby and Stamford. And of course I do quite a few in Essex and in London.
But this was a different matter, and on a warm and sunny day I showed a group of people around this delightful place, and gave an idea of its history.
They saw Ely Cathedral, of course, as well as Oliver Cromwells House, Jubilee Gardens and the superb Riverside area.
Ely is probably one of my favourite towns.
