Schoolchildren Shown Coalville
I led a private Guided Walk around Coalville recently. This was for pupils of St. Clare`s Catholic Primary School in the town.
I showed the children some of the more interesting aspects of this Leicestershire town, which did not exist until the 19th century, but was thereafter at the centre of a coal mining area.
Robert Stephenson engineered one of the world`s first railways, the Leicester to Swannington, and this was followed by his father George opening two new collieries.
I am happy to lead this walk, or any other for that matter, for your own group. Just get in touch.
