Peter Bowler Speaks to Cricket Society
I attended another meeting of the Leicestershire Cricket Society at Grace Road recently.
These meetings are always well atended. They are a way for enthusiasts to talk about cricket among friends, during the close season.
This time the speaker was Peter Bowler, who was an opening batsman for Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Somerset.
He has the distinction of not only scoring a century on his Leicestershire debut, but repeating the feat in his first match for Derbyshire.
Peter also coached Australian master batsman and captain Ricky Pointing, when the latter was a young hopeful.
He turned out to be a very enjoyable speaker indeed.
