New London Walks Went Down a Treat
I recently had my day in London, on which I lead two different Guided Walks in the day. I do this in Spring and in Autumn.
This time, the walks were both new ones, "Royal London" and "Crime and Punishment". They attracted people from both Leicester and Southend, as well as people already in London.
"Royal London" started outside the National Gallery. We strolled down Whitehall, then past Westminster Abbey and round to St. James`s Palace. On the way, we saw beautiful Royal parks, Royal residences and lots of statues of Royalty, including the popular new statue of the Queen Mother.
"Crime and Punishment" started outside St. Pauls Cathedral. We walked up through Smithfield to Clerkenwell, and back to Fleet Street, noting many sites of prisons and places of execution.
The Autumn walks will also be new ones, "London`s Lost Riverside" and "Alleyways of London".
