Mystery Weekend Led to Torquay
My wife Anne and I recently went on a Mystery Weekend organised by Woods Coaches of Leicester.
I enjoy going as a passenger on other people`s trips. It`s nice sometimes to have no responsibility! And I particularly enjoy the concept of Mystery Tours, with the inherent challenge of guessing the destination.
On this occasion, we headed South West on the Saturday morning, stopping at Michael Wood Services, and continued until we got to Torquay, and were dropped at the Derwent Hotel.
I like Torquay very much, and it was a great pleasure to be able to walk along the seafront and enjoy the wonderful views over Torbay.
We did, however, have to find - and fund - things to amuse ourselves.
On the Saturday afternoon we caught a little bus which took us through delightful lanes to Cockington, where we stopped for a while.
Then on the Sunday morning, we had a boat trip around Torbay, viewing the cliff, islands and harbours from a different angle. Smashing!
When it was time to leave Torquay, we got back on the coach and came back to Leicester by exactly the same route, stopping again at Michael Wood.
It was lovely to be in Torquay again.
