Kenilworth Made Another Great Trip
Another great Coach Trip that I led recently from Leicester was "Kenilworth and the Heart of England".
This was one of the Sunday trips, on which we start at 1pm, meaning that people who do something else on Sunday mornings - notably going to church, of course - can still take part.
After leaving St. Margarets Bus Station, we meandered down through Rugby and on through Leamington Spa and Warwick, getting a terrific view of Warwick Castle across the River Avon.
On arriving at Kenilworth, many of the group visited the magnificent ruins of Kenilworth Castle.
Personally, having already looked around the castle, I went and had a delightful coffee and scone at an outstanding tea shop named Time for Tea, then strolled through the Abbey ruins and visited the Barn Museum and the parish church.
On the way back to Leicester, we made a comfort stop at Northampton (formerly Rothersthorpe) Services.
My Visitors` Book attracted such comments as "lovely trip wih a very knowledgeable man - thank you", "we have been through some beautiful towns and villages, saw the Abbey ruins in a lovely park and the Barn Museum was open" and "a very enjoyable trip through lovely countryside and to a marvellous castle".
