Fine Hospitality at the Stanneylands Hotel
My wife Anne and I enjoyed an excellent overnight stay recently at the Stanneylands Hotel at Wilmslow, on the edge of the countryside.
Arriving on the Friday, we joined other guests for dinner and a treasure hunt, introducing us to the hotel`s many fine features.
On the Saturday, we were taken to Styal Golf Club, where we had an introductory session at the driving range.
And from there, it was on to the famous Quarry Bank Mill at Styal. We were given a tour of the fascinating Apprentices` House and allowed to wander at will around the mill itself, which now doubles as a museum.
Before leaving to come back to Leicester, we had a buffet lunch at the hotel and it was announced that I had won the treasure hunt! The prize is a champagne tea for two at the Quorn Country Hotel, a few miles away from where we live.
We thoroughly enjoyed this short break in a rather harsh Winter, and have no hesitation in recommending the Stanneylands to you ....
