Excellent Trip to Wensleydale
I went on a Coach Trip run by Woods Coaches of Leicester recently. This is the company from whom I hire coaches for my own excursions.
This time it was a visit to Wensleydale in Yorkshire.
After making a stop at Tibshelf Services, we travelled on Northwards to Leeming Bar, where we had some time to have a look round, before getting on a train on the restored Wensleydale Railway.
This took us to the present end of the line at Redmire, high up in the hills, and then back to the excellent little market town of Leyburn, where I had a walk onto the limestone pavement known as Leyburn Shawl, overlooking the valley.
Then it was back to Leicester, stopping at Tibshelf again on the way.
I am sometimes asked if going on other people`s trips is something of a busman`s holiday. Well it is, but I thoroughly enjoy it!
