Excellent Day Out in Norfolk
I went as a passenger recently on a Coach Trip to the Norfolk coast.
It was a trip organised by Woods Coaches of Leicester, the company from whom I hire coaches for my own programme of excursions. I know it`s a good company, with good drivers, so I can relax and let somebody else take all the decisions!
After leaving St. Margarets Bus Station, we proceeded Eastwards until we reached Kings Lynn, where we made a coffee stop at Caithness Crystal.
Then it was up to the coast, and we stopped at Wells-next-the-Sea, a delightful little working town with a fascinating harbour. I visited St. Nicholas Church and had the necessary cup of coffee at Nelson`s Coffee House, after which I bought an excellent bag of chips and sat on the harbour wall eating them.
After that, we went a couple of miles Westwards, where we were met by a couple of bird enthusiasts, who took us on a 4 mile stroll through marshland, well-established dunes, pine forest and extensive sandy beach, mainly looking at birds.
The walk finished by the gates of Holkham Hall.
On the way back, we made a short stop for coffee at the White Hart at Thorney Toll.
It was good to breathe in some proper sea air, and of course I enjoyed the day.
