Essex Leisure and Tourism Show

I went to a trade show recently at Brentwood in my home county of Essex.

The Leisure and Tourism Show , having been held in Colchester for a number of years, has its home now at the Leisure Centre at Brentwood.

I particularly like visiting this show. Whereas most of the big shows quite properly have stands representing the big resorts, cathedral cities etc, this one also features some of the smaller towns and attractions, mostly in Essex but also in neighbouring counties.

Consequently, it`s possible to not only talk to people from, say, Colchester and Southend, but also from places like Braintree, Harwich, Maldon and Waltham Abbey, and attractions such as the Colne Valley Railway and the Essex Rose tea shop at Dedham, while scones with Tiptree jam are always very popular.

As always, I enjoyed this show very much.
