Did You Miss the Lancaster Trip?
Well, if you did miss the Lancaster Coach Trip you missed a good one. Silly you!
The latest in my long series of excursions for people from the Leicester area, it was actually the second time I had run a trip to this noble old city on the River Lune.
We left St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester as usual, and made our way up through Stoke-on-Trent and across the River Mersey before making our morning coffee stop at the very pleasant Trebaron Garden Centre at Newton-le-Willows.
Then it was on through Lancashire to Lancaster.
As always, I led the Guided Walk around Lancaster first, showing all the best known sites in the City Centre as well as some of the lesser known ones. These included Lancaster Castle, Lancaster Priory and St. Georges Quay.
An extra surprise before we actually turned South to go home was a quick visit to Morecambe, where we were able to get out and enjoy a few minutes` sea air, while gazing across the sublime Morecambe Bay to the mountains of the Lake District.
On the way home we stopped at Sandbach Services.
My Visitors` Book attracted such comments as "a very enjoyable trip to Lancaster, with some lovely buildings. It was good to have the chance to pop to Morecambe on the way home. I am impressed with your pronunciation of Welsh names", "very interesting city, stop at Morecambe very appreciated", very interesting historical town especially with the Guided Walk, very informative" and "yet another good trip".
My next Coach Trip is the Derbyshire Tour, and the next one with a Guided Walk is Portsmouth.
