Did You Miss the Bath Trip?
Well, you will be kicking yourself if you did miss my recent Coach Trip to Bath. A great trip to a great destination, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
As always with my trips from Leicester, we left from St. Margarets Bus Station, which is nice and central for everbody who lives within a few miles of the city.
We travelled down the old Fosse Way, a fine road with lovely views and not a lot of traffic, and made our coffee stop at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon. This became even more appreciated when it was realised that I had arranged a short tour of the centre after coffee.
Continuing South Westwards, we drove through the glorious Cotswolds, passing through such places as Moreton-in-Marsh and Tetbury.
Before getting to Bath, I gave an overview of this fabulous city`s history, from Roman times when the baths were built, through the Anglo-Saxon period when St. Dunstan invented the coronation service first used at Bath Abbey to the Georgian era, when Bath became an elegant spa town.
Probably the highlight of these trips for most is the Guided Walk. At Bath I showed such places as the Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, The Circus and the magnificent Royal Crescent.
On the way back to Leicester, we stopped for coffee at Strensham Services.
My Visitors` Book gathered such comments as "my first trip with Colin but not my last! A truly remarkable day to somewhere I have long wished to visit. Thank you Colin", "very scenic coach trip, good stop off at Gaydon Motor Museum, interesting walk", "an excellent day`s outing, I learnt so much about Bath which I did not know before" and "a great day in Bath, the guided tour was excellent and detailed and I then went to see the Roman baths".
