Did You Miss Ironbridge?
A recent Coach Trip, the Ironbridge Gorge Tour was much enjoyed. If you missed it, you missed a real treat!
This was one of the programme of trips to destinations all over the country, which I devise and lead from Leicester throughout the year.
We set off from St. Margarets Bus Station and made our way towards the valley of the River Severn, in the region near Telford which is dominated by The Wrekin.
I gave a short stop at the delightful little Shropshire town of Much Wenlock, with its picturesque buildings.
Then it was on to Ironbridge. Everybody in the party was able to walk over the wonderful and beautiful Iron Bridge itself, which was central to the Industrial Revolution, and over into the little town.
On the way back, we stopped at the rather posh Norton Canes Services, on the M6 Toll motorway.
My Visitors' Book contains such comments as "we have very much enjoyed the day", "most enjoyable time", "lovely day, very interesting talks" and "Ironbridge was great".
