Cinema Talk to Camera Club

I recently gave a talk to the Fosse Co-op Camera Club, at a Catholic Church Hall in Leicester.

The talk was "The Adventures of the Bearded Cinema Manager", which is consistently the most popular of all the talks I deliver. It tends to resonate with people of a certain age.

I reminisce about my own experiences when entering the entertainment industry in 1963, just ten days short of my 21st birthday, as Trainee Manager at the Odeon Gants Hill in Ilford.

It involved quite a lot of glamour, even more long hours and even more than that - years of hard work!

The first live show that I ever worked on (the first of many, as it happened) was The Beatles at the height of their popularity in 1963, at the Odeon Southend. Amazingly, a man in the audience had been at that very show - not far short of 150 miles away and not far short of 50 years away!

I am very happy to give this talk, or any other, to other groups - just get in touch!
