Christmas Talk at Market Harborough
I gave my Christmas talk "The Holly and the Ivy" at Market Harborough recently.
It was to a group called Alternative Choices, who meet at the town`s Evangelical Church.
"The Holly and the Ivy" concentrates on Christmas customs, in particular the ones that don`t really have any connection with Christmas as a Christian festival, but have been added over the centuries.
So we looked at the origins of such matters as Christmas trees, Christmas cards, Christmas crackers, mince pies and mistletoe, not forgetting the popular but enigmatic Father Christmas, or is it Santa Claus?
I am happy to give this talk to any group. Just get in touch if you fancy it!
