Bar Convent Museum (York)

The Bar Convent Museum is a historic house in York.

It is situated in Blossom Street.

The convent was founded in 1686 by the Jesuitesses, offering exclusively female education.

It was rebuilt in 1787 as a town house, with its chapel in a courtyard.

Today it is still active as a convent, but incorporates a museum of the history of Christianity in York.
