Eclipse (Winchester)
The Eclipse is a delightful little inn in the historic cathedral city of Winchester.
It is situated in The Square, opposite the City Museum.
Unusually, the Eclipse was originally a Rectory, of the little St. Lawrence`s Church, still functioning but missed by most of Winchester`s visitors. The church was built on the site of the chapel of William the Conqueror`s palace.
The name Eclipse was significant, there having been another inn across the road named the Sun.
