St. Peter`s Church (Whetstone)
St. Peter`s Church is the parish church of the village of Whetstone, not far from Leicester.
It dates largely from the 14th century, and there is a date of 135 on one of the buttresses. The church was, however, largel;y rebuilt in 1856.
The tower, Perpendicular at the top, is 14th century, and is surmounted by an attractive spire.
The sedilia date from the 13th century, and the piscina has an ogee head.
