Pier Bandstand (Weymouth)

The Pier Bandstand is the remains of one of two piers in the seaside resort of Weymouth. The other is Commercial Pier.

The pier was built in 1939 in a modernist style, and opened a few moths before the outbreak of war.

Although in the years following the war, the bandstand was a opular entertainment venue, it was eventually deemed too costly and blown up in 1986.

The entrance to the pier has now been restored to its Art Deco style, and there are plans to restore the pier itself.
