Nothe Fort (Weymouth)

Nothe Fort is a historic building at Weymouth on the Dorset coast.

It is situated in Barrack Road.

Nothe Fort is a Victorian fort, constructed between 1860 and 1872, and is part of the fortifications built to protect Portland harbour.

The fort is on three levels, with the lowest level providing the magazines for storing gunpowder (known as blackpowder) and shells.

On the parade ground level there were twelve heavy guns and an observation platform.
