Captain Cook and Staithes Heritage Centre (Staithes)
The Captain Cook and Staithes Heritage Centre is a fascinating attraction at the attractive coastal village of Staithes in North Yorkshire.
It is situated in the High Street, and housed in a former Methodist chapel.
The museum heavily features Captain James Cook, who was apprenticed to a grocer here, before moving on to Whitby. There is a collection of Webber engravings, made from paintings of scenes from Cook`s voyages.
