Royal Marines Museum (Southsea)
The Royal Marines Museum is one of the many fascinating attractions at Southsea on the Hampshire coast.
It is situated on Eastney Esplanade, a stone`s throw from the sea front.
The Royal Marines were founded in 1664 as 'sea soldiers' and officially established in 1775.
The main room setting is the sumptuous Artillery Officers` Mess, while the museum, in telling the sory of the Marines, has a collection of over 7000 trophies, paintings and medals.
