Palace Hotel (Southend)

The Palace Hotel is one of the prominent buildings on the Seafront at Southend.

It is a large building of six storeys, rising up Pier Hill and overlooking Southend Pier. It was built in 1901.

In the 1950s, it claimed to have the longest bar in England.

Around the same time and later, there was ballroom dancing in the Palace`s spacious ballroom, and rock singers performed in the same area.
