St. Alkmund`s Church (Shrewsbury)

St. Alkmund`s Church is one of the old churches of Shrewsbury, whose towers and spires contibute to the town`s wonderful skyline.

It is situated between Dogpole and the High Street.

This was formerly the market area, as one would expect from the street names, such as Butcher Row and Fish Street.

St. Alkmund`s was first built in the 15th century, but was largely demolished and rebuilt in 1794.

The huge East window, with the title "Faith", was executed by Francis Egerton in 1795.
