Selby Station (Selby)

Selby Station is the railway station that serves the Yorkshire market town of Selby.

The Leeds and Selby Railway was an early one, and has been immortalised in song ("Paddy Works on the Railway"). In fact the station at Selby was the first to be built in Yorkshire, and was opened in 1834.

Trains for Selby come from Bradford, by way of Leeds. They continue to Hull.

Another line runs Southwards to Doncaster, and another Northwards to York. These are actually the main line from Kings Cross Station, which normally bypasses Selby.

A branch line formerly ran to Cawood, and another to Goole.

Yet another line ran to Beverley.
