Old House (Rochford)
The Old House is one of the very picturesque buildings in the historic Essex market town of Rochford.
It is situated in South Street, the street which leads to Prittlewell and on to Southend.
It is a timber framed domestic house, and was believed by local historians to date back to the 15th century. However, detailed investigation in the 1990s showed that in fact it dated from the 13th century.
Today, it is used as offices by a department of Rochford District Council, and regular guided tours of the house take place.
