Plymouth Station (Plymouth)

Plymouth Station is the railway station serving the maritime city of Plymouth in Devon.

The original station was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1849, and it was rebuilt in 1962.

Trains come to Plymouth from Paddington Station in London, by way of Salisbury, Exeter and Newton Abbot.

They continue over the Royal Albert Bridge into Cornwall, reaching Saltash, Liskeard, Truro and Penzance.

There are a number of suburban stations in the Plymouth conurbation.

A local branch line once ran to Plymstock and Yealmpton, and another line ran to Tavistock, Launceston and Padstow.
