Merchant`s House (Plymouth)

The Merchant`s House is a historic building in the maritime city of Plymouth.

It is situated in St. Andrew`s Street, in the waterfront area, and is open to the public.

One of a number of houses built in the 16th century for merchants and sea captains, it is a rather grander version of the nearby Elizabethan House.

It is a jettied house, with rough stone walls and oak framed windows.

One of the previous owners made his fortune from piracy.
