St. Michael`s Church (Pitsea)
St. Michael`s Church is the old parish church of the little town of Pitsea in Essex, which is now part of Basildon New Town.
Like many other churches dedicated to St. Michael, it stands high on a hill.
The West tower dates from about 1500, and the rest was rebuilt by Sir Arthur Blomfield after a fire in 1871.
The church is now mostly demolished, but the tower still stands, and is used by the Orange mobile phone company.
