Longthorpe Tower (Peterborough)

The Longthorpe Tower is a fascinating old building, part of a castle, at Peterborough.

It is situated in what is now the Longthorpe suburb of the city, although it was a separate village at the time.

The tower was added to the manor in 1300.

It has most unusual wall paintings, dating from the 14th century, showing biblical scenes.

The Longthorpe Tower is now in the care of English Heritage.
