St. Anthony`s Gardens (Penzance)
St. Anthony`s Gardens are a delightful feature of Penzance in Cornwall.
The gardens are situated close to the sea, between South Place and Battery Road.
They are on the site of the 12th century St. Anthony`s Chapel, the earliest Christian place of worship in Penzance. St. Anthony is the patron saint of fishermen.
The gardens contain an archway which was part of the original chapel, and a 12 foot fountain bowl, carved from a single block of granite.
