Worcester College (Oxford)

Worcester College is one of the colleges that together make up Oxford University, famed throughout the world.

It is situated in Beaumont Street.

The college was built on the site of 1283 Benedictine foundation named Gloucester College, and updated to Gloucester Hall during the reign of Mary I by Sir Thomas White.

In 1714 it was refounded under the endowment of Sir Thomas White of Worcester.

Among the architects responsible for the buildings are Nicholas Hawksmoor,James Wyatt and William Burges.
