Discovery Museum (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)
The Discovery Museum is a largely maritime museum at Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
It is situated in Blandford Square.
Perhaps the outstanding attraction is a huge model of the 1890s vessel "Turbinia", the first to use the turbine engines developed by Charles Parsons, which promptly broke all the existing speed records.
Among the other models is of the Tyne and its shipyards in 1928.
