Midland Hotel (Morecambe)

The Midland Hotel is a famous hotel at the Lancashire resort of Morecambe.

It is situated on the seafront, with fantastic views over Morecambe Bay to the mountains of the Lake District.

The Midland was built between 1932 and 1933 in the international Modernist style, with plenty af art deco touches by Eric Gill and Eric Ravilious.

The architect was Oliver Hill, and it was built for the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS).

A multi-million pound restoration was begun in 2005, and the Midland was successfully reopened in 2008.
